Giambattista Valli Spring 2013 Couture
The Giambattista Valli couture collection was unbelievably feminine. Some of the pieces may take the red carpet at the upcoming award shows or they could grace debutantes at the next cotillion at Hôtel de Crillon.
Mainly cocktail dresses and ball gowns covered in beautiful layers of chiffon.
Atelier Versace Spring Couture 2013
Donatella sent another stunning collection down the runway in Paris officially kicking off Couture Season.
The Spring Summer 2013 Atelier Versace collection explores the relationships between solid structures and ethereal fabrics. Donatella Versace took inspiration in the architectural splendor of glass domes, where the fragility of glass contrasts with the strenght of iron and steel beams, challenging the idea of modern to build ephemeral vaults and roof lights.
Overall, the collection was a contrast from last seasons airiness. The structure of all of these pieces are drawn from solid architecture, as stated above. I highly enjoyed the collection. My favorite pieces were worn by Karlie Kloss and Lindsey Wixson.
Donatella transitioned nicely from structured pieces to dresses. Signature Versace details could be spotted on every pieces. From the punk, leather vests to the pleated skirts. Donatella, bravo!
